The Fall Luncheon fundraiser was held at the Beaumont Country Club on November 8th.
Mayor Becky Ames was the guest speaker and she gave a ‘state of the city’ speech that covered all the repairs, improvements and plans the city has scheduled in the future. She was introduced by Kyle Hayes, Beaumont City Manager.
Our Master of Ceremonies was Kevin Steele of Channel 12 who graciously Awards were presented to our volunteers, businesses, and church organizations who helped make this past year a total success for Habitat.
A special volunteer award was presented to Walt Snider for his long time legal support of HFHOJC. Walt was unable to attend; however, his pastor accepted the award for him.
Helena Carter received a plaque for her tremendous volunteer work with the agency. Miss Helena spent over 1,000 volunteer hours with Habitat last year. We can always count on her to help out during Collegiate Challenge, Women Build, World Habitat Day and normal Saturday builds. She worked tirelessly on this Luncheon and arranged all the flowers on the tables at this event.
Also receiving an award was Dr. Bert Wagner, who has done a great deal of maintenance work for the affiliate. Bert spent months painting the office, fixing overhead light fixtures and replacing all the drop ceiling tiles. We truly appreciate the work he did to make our office space into an updated environment.
M&D Supply, represented by Scott Hatcher, received recognition for their ongoing material support of the affiliate. M&D consistently donates materials to the ReStore and this year, they went above and beyond! We got a new forklift and a double door dolly donated by M&D. The professionals at M&D Supply ensure that our ReStore is safely equipped to serve the needs of Jefferson County. The ReStore truly owes its profitability to the largess of M&D.
