Volunteer With Us
Building with Habitat is an experience you’ll never forget. Whether you’re swinging a hammer, supporting families, assisting at the ReStore, or serving on a committee, your time helps create safe, affordable homes in our community. No construction experience is required — just a willingness to help.
We provide all tools, gloves, protective eyewear, and water. You’re welcome to bring your own work gloves. Please dress appropriately for active work, including closed-toe shoes. Note that the Jefferson County ReStore is not climate-controlled, and some volunteer projects take place outdoors.
Individuals
Join us and work alongside community members committed to making a difference.
Groups
Build teamwork while building homes. Companies, service clubs, associations, church groups, and other organizations are welcome.
Youth Volunteers
We value our youth volunteers and prioritize safety. Please review age guidelines:
- Ages 16–17: May participate in construction but cannot use power tools or work on ladders, scaffolding, elevated platforms without rails, or roofs. Must have adult supervision and a liability waiver signed by a parent or guardian.
- Ages 15 and under: Not permitted on construction sites, except to deliver food or drinks during lunch when no work is taking place.
Non-Construction Opportunities
Support our mission by volunteering at the Habitat ReStore. Help greet customers, process donations, clean, and merchandise items — all while helping fund affordable housing in our community.
